Liam Middleton, now 8, was diagnosed with liver disease at Our Lady’s Hospital for Sick Children in Crumlin after weeks of feeling lethargic and itchy and was immediately flown to King’s College in London on the Government’s private jet.
Unlike most children Elizabeth Murphy gets to celebrate two birthdays every year. The first, her actual birthday in April is to commemorate her being given life. The second, in September, is to celebrate when her life actually began.
When Tara was born we thought she had a “good colour”, we queried it and were told all babies were jaundiced at first and that it would go away over the next few weeks.
We are parents of 2 & half year old Emily. Emily was 4 weeks old when we thought she looked a bit jaundiced, being a bank holiday weekend we took her to the nearest emergency doctor who told us to go straight back to Holles St where she was born.
Rueben Kiernan is 3 years old. He has an extremely rare liver disease called giant cell hepatitis it so rare we have never found anyone else who has it. Rueben also has lung and blood diseases.
